Most functions in Ableton Live can be easily mapped using the built in MIDI learn functionality. […]

Most functions in Ableton Live can be easily mapped using the built in MIDI learn functionality. However, features that are buried in a menu or do not have a button in the UI cannot be.
ClyphX is a MIDI remote script that allows a user to custom map some of these functions to buttons on a MIDI controller, record and send SysEx to external hardware, execute several actions with X-Triggers, and more!

The video below delves into custom mapping some functions to an MPD32.

Drumalog is a FREE Ableton Live Drum Synth rack I’ve created. Inspired by hardware analog/digital […]

Drumalog is a FREE Ableton Live Drum Synth rack I’ve created. Inspired by hardware analog/digital jam boxes like the Volca Beats, TR-8, and Rhythm Wolf. The goal was to bring the fun and ease of jamming with hardware drum machines into Ableton.

Download Drumalog

Requirements: Ableton Live 9 Suite or greater

Drumalog

Installation: Download and open the Drumalog session. Click on the floppy drive icon to the right of BC- Drumalog. This will save a copy of Drumalog directly into your user preset folder.

All drum sounds were created using instances of Ableton Operator placed into the 16 slots of the drum rack. This allows the user to change each drum and percussion element to their preference, much like the controls on the aformentioned drum machines. When coupled with a MIDI controller, such as an APC40 or MIDI Fighter Twister, these controls can be easily manipulated.

Drumalog is layed out in 3 intuitive control sections:

Master FX: Several Master FX options that affect the entire drum kit.

Reverb Sends: Send specified drums to a reverb.

Drum specific parameters: When a user clicks on a slot in the drum rack, all drum specific parameters for that slot will be displayed in the macro panel directly to the right.

Below is a video walk through of what you can do with Drumalog.
